The triangular and elevated area in front of the entrance to the courthouse in Ystad is a sculptural interpretation of a wave; and the wave a metaphor for the scale of justice. Two circular wells symbolizes the scales. During the day they seem mysterious and bottomless, reflecting the sky and the world, during the night they’re filled with blue light. They balance on both sides of the narrow and straight path. The positioning of the path and the triangle is based on the architecture; the strong pillars standing at the top of the entrance stairs.
